Title:	Comparative Election Study 1990 (Primary Respondents, 2nd Wave)
Description:	Recording the communication processes between the political system and the voter. Political attitudes; media usage; judgement on parties and politicians. Topics: Judgement on the current economic situation in the Federal Republic and expectation for the next year; interest in politics; judgement on political reporting in the daily newspapers preferred by the respondent as well as in selected television stations; classification of these media with preferential treatment of individual parties; television set in household; opportunity to receive RTL plus and SAT 1; most important problems in the Federal Republic; intent to participate in the election; party preference (first vote and second vote); knowledge about the significance of first vote and second vote; expected winner of the coming Federal Parliament election; sympathy scale for Federal Chancellor Kohl and candidate for chancellor Lafontaine; preference for federal chancellor; preference for governmental or market economy solution of the economic problems in the new states; assumed position of the individual parties on this question; attitude to restriction of the right to asylum, to the question of abortion as well as assumed positions of the parties; preference for new indebtedness or tax increase to finance German unity and assumed position of the parties; membership in associations, organizations and initiatives; rank order of the individual importance of these organizations; participation in activities and receipt of publications of the three most important organizations; assumed party allegiance of these organizations; selected associations, organizations as well as churches and their willingness to support the individual parties in the coming Federal Parliament election; party membership; intensity of contacts with the parties in the course of the election campaign in form of brochures, participation in election events or personal contacts with election helpers or candidates; frequency of political conversations with partner through life; common or different political conviction; frequency of political conversations with the conversation partner named in the first interview wave; stating political topics mentioned and frequency of different opinions; religious affiliation; year of birth; month of birth; possession of a telephone. In the East the following was also asked: behavior at the polls in the last state parliament election (second vote). Interviewer rating: presence of other persons during the interview; interventions of other persons in the course of the interview; willingness of respondent to cooperate; classification of reliability of respondent; length of interview; date of interview; identification of interviewer; sex of interviewer; age of interviewer. Themen: Beurteilung der derzeitigen wirtschaftlichen Lage in der Bundesrepublik und Erwartung für das nächste Jahr; Politikinteresse; Beurteilung der politischen Berichterstattung in den vom Befragten präferierten Tageszeitungen sowie bei ausgewählten Fernsehsendern; Zuordnung dieser Medien zu einer bevorzugten Behandlung einzelner Parteien; Fernsehgerät im Haushalt; Empfangsmöglichkeit von RTL plus und SAT 1; wichtigste Probleme in der Bundesrepublik; Wahlbeteiligungsabsicht; Parteipräferenz (Erststimme und Zweitstimme); Kenntnis der Bedeutung von Erststimme und Zweitstimme; erwarteter Wahlgewinner der kommenden Bundestagswahl; Sympathie-Skalometer für Bundeskanzler Kohl und Kanzlerkandidat Lafontaine; Bundeskanzlerpräferenz; Präferenz für staatliche oder marktwirtschaftliche Lösung der wirtschaftlichen Probleme in den neuen Bundesländern; vermuteter Standpunkt der einzelnen Parteien in dieser Frage; Einstellung zur Einschränkung des Asylrechts, zur Frage der Schwangerschaftsabbrüche sowie vermutete Standpunkte der Parteien; Präferenz für Neuverschuldung oder Steuererhöhung zur Finanzierung der deutschen Einheit und vermuteter Standpunkt der Parteien; Mitgliedschaft in Verbänden, Organisationen und Initiativen; Rangfolge der individuellen Wichtigkeit dieser Organisationen; Teilnahme an Aktivitäten und Rezeption der Veröffentlichungen der drei wichtigsten Organisationen; vermutete Parteiverbundenheit dieser Organisationen; ausgewählte Verbände, Organisationen sowie Kirchen und ihre Unterstützungsbereitschaft gegenüber den einzelnen Parteien bei der anstehenden Bundestagswahl; Parteimitgliedschaft; Intensität der Kontakte zu den Parteien im Verlaufe des Wahlkampfes in Form von Broschüren, Teilnahme an Wahlveranstaltungen oder persönlichen Kontakten zu Wahlhelfern bzw. Kandidaten; Häufigkeit politischer Gespräche mit dem Lebenspartner; gemeinsame oder unterschiedliche politische Überzeugung; Häufigkeit politischer Gespräche mit dem in der ersten Interviewwelle genannten Gesprächspartner; Nennung der dabei angesprochenen politischen Themen und Häufigkeit unterschiedlicher Meinungen; Religionszugehörigkeit; Geschlecht; Geburtsjahr; Geburtsmonat; Telefonbesitz. Im Osten wurde zusätzlich gefragt: Wahlverhalten bei der letzten Landtagswahl (Zweitstimme). Interviewerrating: Anwesenheit anderer Personen beim Interview; Eingriffe anderer Personen in den Interviewverlauf; Kooperationsbereitschaft des Befragten; Einstufung der Zuverlässigkeit des Befragten; Interviewdauer; Interviewdatum; Intervieweridentifikation; Interviewergeschlecht; Intervieweralter.
