The Cambridge Centre for Business Research National Survey of Knowledge Exchange Activity by United Kingdom Academics, 2012-2015 collected information on how UK academics in all universities and all disciplines interacted with private, public and charitable organisations in the three calendar years (2012, 2013 and 2014) prior to the survey and to establish how these interactions are perceived within academia.

This survey was conducted by a team drawn from the Centre for Business Research at the University of Cambridge, Imperial College Business School and the University of Bath School of Management and it updates the results and analysis of an earlier survey of UK academic engagement with external organisations (held at the UK Data Archive under SN 6462). The original web-based survey attracted over 22,000 responses. The latest survey received 18,177 responses. These are the two largest research and knowledge exchange surveys ever completed of a national Higher Education System.

Further information about the project is available from the National Centre for Universities and Business National: Survey of Academics webpage.
