dc.description | British Gambling Prevalence Survey, 2007 is the second survey in the series and was undertaken to help the Gambling Commission understand the nature and scale of gambling in Great Britain at a point before the Gambling Act 2005 was implemented on 1 September 2007. It was commissioned as part of the Gambling Commission’s commitment to the licensing objectives of keeping crime out of gambling, ensuring gambling is conducted fairly and openly, and protecting children and vulnerable people from harm from gambling.

The questionnaire asked respondents to record whether they had gambled on a range of activities in the past year and past week. Past gamblers were asked questions pertaining to venues for gambling and how much they won or lost on each activity. Two problem gambling screens were included within the questionnaire to assess the extent to which people experience problems with their gambling and a range of attitudinal and socio-demographic questions were also included.
| en |
