The interview schedule covered first impressions of Britain; domestic routine, including the roles of husbands, wives and children; meals; the upbringing of children; emotional relationships and values in the family; leisure; religion; politics; race discrimination; culture; school; courtship and marriage; the wider family; relationships with neighbours and perception of the community structure.<br> <br> The collection comprises 17 interviews on 32 open-reel tapes. There are transcriptions of ten of these interviews.<br>en
