dc.descriptionThe data catalogue 18900 documents representing the office copy of grants, patents, licences and commissions issued under the Great Seal by the Lord Keeper, Thomas Coventry, 1625-1640. There are 60 classes of docquet, of which the most numerous are Licences of Alienation (3960), Presentations of Benefices (1404), Commissions of Bankruptcy (1085), Commissions of Rebellion (1008) and Exemplifications (982). Also included are appointments to court offices, monopolies, leases of lands and appointments of justices of the peace, sheriffs, escheators, etc.en
