The aim of these data are to provide a second generation 1981 Census Enumeration District (ED) classification of Great Britain. Although developed with a view to target marketing and related activities in the private sector, the classifications also provide a powerful means of distinguishing national variations in socio-economic conditions for public sector applications.en
