Title:	Industrialization of Darmstadt in the 19th century.
Description:	The industrializationprozess of the german city Darmstatd from 1815 to 1900 is described. Uecker defines the term industrialization as the diffusion of industrial mass products. The available operating range of the town – the contact of the economic area of Darmstadt with the sorrounding via the traffic system and the alternately incorporation of central markets and cities – is in close relationship to this diffusion-process. Damit eng verbunden sieht er den zur Verfügung stehenden Aktionsradius einer Stadt, also die Verbindung des Wirtschaftsraumes Darmstadt mit der Umgebung über Verkehrswege sowie eine wechselseitige Eingliederung zentraler Märkte und Städte. Dabei ist zu berücksichtigen, das Darmstadt im 19. Jahrhundert eine Hof-, Beamten- und Militärstadt mit agrarischer Prägung ist. Hierbei geht er im wesentlichen auf folgende Themen ein: - die Bevölkerungsbewegung - Betriebe und Beschäftigte nach Gewerbe- und Produktionszweigen in Darmstadt - Städtische Infrastruktur: Wasserversorung, Kanalisation, Stromversorgung, Straßenbahn - Entwicklung des Eisenbahnwesens - Entwicklung des Bankwesens Dabei unterscheidet er drei unterschiedliche Zeiträume der Entwicklung Darmstadts von einer Verwaltungsstadt hin zu einer Industriestadt: - Grundlagen der Industrialisierung bis 1850 - Die Epoche 1850 – 1870 als Zeitalter der Gründung der Darmstädter Industrie - Ausbau der Darmstädter Industrie (ca. 1870 bis 1900) Themen: Datentabellen in HISTAT: A.
