Title:	The German and international industrial production between 1860 and 1932
Description:	The researcher analyzes the progress of the industrial economic development of Germany from 1860 to 1932 ot the basis of empirical material. Using collected statistics and computed indizes he examined wheter the trend of German´s industrial production of goods shows a declining trend of structural nature, or whether the assumption is confirmed that a major upswing is still to come. At first the precise production development with all its structural auxiliary processes is described. After that, the relative development is analysed, in fact by using the industrial development abroad, the development of different induatrial groups, and the development of typical individual industrial goups as standard of comparison. From the entirety of these relations the researcher tries to assess the direction of development of German industry. Die Untersuchung stellt den Verlauf der industriewirtschaftlichen Entwicklung Deutschlands von 1860 bis 1932 anhand empirischen Materials dar. Anhand des erhobenen Datenmaterials (und berechneter Indexziffern) soll geprüft werden, ob der Trend der industriellen Warenerzeugung Deutschlands Rückgangstendenzen struktureller Art aufweist, oder ob die Vermutung gestützt wird, dass eine größere Aufwärtsbewegung noch bevorsteht. „Befinden wir uns in einer Strukturkrisis, aus der es ohne einen organisatorischen Umbau der Wirtschaft keinen Ausweg mehr gibt? Oder durchleben wir vielleicht nur eine jener zyklischen Krisen, wie sie das kapitalistische System wohl oder über mit sich bringt – wie sie dieses gleiche System bislang aus eigener Kraft zu heilen vermochte? … Zunächst wird die konkrete Produktionsentwicklung mit all ihren strukturellen Nebenprozessen dargestellt. Anschließend wird die relative Entwicklung untersucht, und zwar werden als Vergleichsmaßstäbe die Entwicklung im Ausland, die Entwicklung der Industriegruppen und die Entwicklung einzelner typischer Industrien herangezogen. Aus der Gesamtheit dieser ‚Relationen’ soll dann zusammenfassend ein Urteil über die Entwicklungsrichtung der deutschen Industrie versucht werden. Dabei wird die deutsche Industrieproduktion in ihrem jeweiligen Umfang – ohne Ausschaltung der Gebietsveränderungen (etwa durch Division mit der jeweiligen Bevölkerungszahl) – betrachtet, da die Rolle und der Einfluß der Bevölkerungszahl auf das Produktionsvolumen nicht klar gestellt ist … Ergänzend zu den Wachstumsberechnungen werden Niveauvergleiche durchgeführt, da Stand und Entwicklung der industriellen Produktion nur in ihrem Zusammenwirken voll verstanden werden können“ (Wagenführ, R., 1933: Die Industriewirtschaft.
