Families were located with teenage children in three contrasted areas of a large midland city (a middle class area, a traditional working class area and a council estate).<br> <B>Main Topics</B>:<BR> Variables<br> Socio-economic background of the family, educational career and attitudes, occupational history and occupational choice, political affiliations.<br> Friendship patterns, general leisure activities, involvement in sports/clubs and organisations, self-reported delinquency.<br> General involvement with the mass media, involvement in pop culture (music, dancing, fashion), pop culture preference and antagonisms.<br> Images of social change, perceptions of social problems, images of social class, perceptions of youth and of youth subcultures, subcultural affiliations. |
